Privacy Policy

What you add is yours — we process it only to serve you, we never pool it with another family's, and we never sell it.

Effective: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: September 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Hooked on Yutz ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Get Chalked mobile application (the "App") on iPhone and on Android.

The short version

  • The scores the App shows are public competition results. Reading them needs no account.
  • Everything you add lives on your device. It syncs to our servers only if you sign in.
  • An account is required to sync, because syncing needs somewhere to sync to. It is never required to use the App.
  • We process what you add only to serve you. We never pool it with another family's, and we never sell it.
  • No ads, ever. No feed, no profiles, nothing of yours shown to anyone.
  • You can delete your account from inside the App or at getchalked.net/delete-account, and it genuinely deletes.

What we are careful not to claim

We do not say "we can't read your data." If you sync, the gymnasts you follow, your notes and your photos are stored on our servers in a form our systems can read. That is what makes it possible to put them back on a new phone and to answer a support question when something looks wrong. Saying otherwise would not be true. What we commit to instead is narrower and enforceable: your data is used to serve you, it is never combined with anyone else's, and it is never sold.

Your account

Creating an account requires an email address and a password. That is the only sign-in method — no Google, Facebook or Apple sign-in, and no social network is involved at any point.

  • Accounts are handled by Amazon Cognito. We never see or store your password.
  • Your email is used to verify the account, to reset a forgotten password, and to tell you if something happens to your data. We do not send marketing email to it.
  • You can use the App without an account. Everything then stays on that one device, and nothing syncs.

What is stored, and where

On your device, always

  • The gymnasts you follow, as Family or Following
  • Notes, tags and photos you attach to events
  • Meets you enter by hand, résumé fields, saved trips and your home address
  • Your settings and purchase status

On iPhone, rolling backups also go to your own iCloud Drive. We cannot read them.

On our servers, if you sign in

  • The same list, notes, tags, manual meets and trips
  • Photos you attached to them
  • Your email address

Stored on AWS in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Score data

The App displays gymnastics results aggregated from where meets post them publicly. It fetches them from our servers the way a browser fetches a web page; those requests carry no account and no list of who you follow. Standard server logs record the request and an IP address and are kept only for operating the service.

Anonymous analytics and crash reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to count feature usage and to collect crash reports. They record which screens are used, the crash details, the device type and the operating system version. They do not record your name, email, the gymnasts you follow, your notes or photos, or anything that identifies you as an individual.

Push notifications

If you turn on notifications, the App registers a device token with our servers along with the athletes you want alerts for. The token is removed when you uninstall or turn notifications off. On iPhone, delivery is through Apple's Push Notification service; on Android, through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google).

Purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or by Google Play. We never see your payment details; we receive only confirmation that a subscription is active.

Third-party services

We use a small number of services to run the App. They process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, and accounts
  • Google Firebase — anonymous crash reports and usage counts, and notification delivery on Android
  • Apple — App Store purchases, notification delivery, iCloud Drive backup, and Apple Maps and Apple Weather in the Trip Planner on iPhone
  • Google Play — purchases on Android
  • Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors — maps, place search and directions in the Trip Planner on Android. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, openstreetmap.org/copyright
  • Open-Meteo — the meet-day forecast in the Trip Planner on Android, open-meteo.com

The Trip Planner sends a venue location, and your home address if you set one, to the map and weather service to draw the map and fetch a forecast. That is the only place a location leaves the device, and only when you plan a trip. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we use no advertising networks.

Anything you choose to share

Share cards and résumés are things you create and send yourself, one at a time, through your phone's own sharing. They never pass through our servers.

Your rights and controls

  • Use the App without an account, in which case nothing you add ever reaches us.
  • Delete your account from inside the App, or without the App at getchalked.net/delete-account by signing in with your email and password. Either one genuinely deletes your account and your data from our servers rather than merely hiding them; it is gone and unrecoverable.
  • Delete anything individually — a note, a photo, a gymnast, a trip.
  • Removing the App, or Clear Data in Settings, removes everything stored on that device.
  • Notifications can be turned off in the App or in your phone's settings.

Children

Get Chalked is for parents, coaches and family members to follow gymnasts' scores. The gymnast names and scores it shows are publicly posted competition results. An account requires you to be at least 13, matching our Terms of Use, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how your data is handled in a way that matters, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect — not by quietly editing this page. The dates at the top always reflect the current version.
